About The Position
Working under the supervision and direction of more experienced attorneys, completes legal assignments that are more difficult in nature, but usually involve limited responsibility. Work involves litigation and legal research; drafting legal documents; and interpreting laws, rules, and regulations OR prosecutes misdemeanor cases in assigned court. Manages assigned court, trains Attorney I's and monitors their performance and acts as a primary liaison with court judge. Performs case evaluation, preparation, and management; represents the state/client in pre-trial and evidentiary hearings and jury/court trials; and ensures effective communications with defense attorneys, court personnel, victims and family members, witnesses and other interested parties.
Requirements
- Must be an attorney.
- Experience working under the supervision and direction of more experienced attorneys.
- Ability to complete legal assignments that are more difficult in nature.
- Ability to conduct litigation and legal research.
- Ability to draft legal documents.
- Ability to interpret laws, rules, and regulations.
- Ability to prosecute misdemeanor cases.
- Ability to manage assigned court.
- Ability to train Attorney I's and monitor their performance.
- Ability to act as a primary liaison with court judge.
