The Commission seeks an Attorney-General Counsel 1 to serve as the chief legal advisor for both the Louisiana Real Estate Commission and the Louisiana Real Estate Appraisers Board, providing authoritative legal guidance on administrative, civil, and regulatory matters. Reporting to executive leadership, this position functions as the agency’s legal director and senior regulatory officer, advising leadership and board members, supporting enforcement actions, attending open meetings, interpreting and applying laws and regulations, overseeing complex compliance and investigative matters, coordinating legislative and governmental relations, and ensuring agency decisions are legally sound, transparent, and consistent with state and federal law. In addition to serving as lead legal counsel, this position provides strategic oversight and supervision within the Regulatory Compliance and Investigative functions, guiding complex enforcement matters and supporting agency operations through policy development, legislative coordination, and government relations. The General Counsel represents the agencies before legislative bodies and collaborates with state partners to support effective regulation and consumer protection across Louisiana.
