The Attorney 1 role is a key position within the Board. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting legal research and preparing written reports, responding to law-related inquiries in a timely and confidential manner, assisting staff attorneys with investigations involving professional misconduct of educators (with an emphasis on cases not involving criminal convictions), drafting, analyzing, and reviewing subpoenas and public records requests, preparing cases for administrative review of disciplinary action (including editing and proofreading documents and drafting interview and document summaries), attending administrative hearings, reviewing hearing officer reports and recommendations, and responding to inquiries from agency employees, government officials, and the public.
