About The Position

This is a temporary part-time or full-time physician role to provide primary care in the outpatient setting. The role involves providing direct primary pediatric care, utilizing knowledge, skill, and expertise in pediatrics to provide ongoing primary care to a panel of patients. The physician will collaborate with the family and the La Rabida team to provide high-quality, family-centered primary care. The clinical workload will consist of a designated or agreed-upon number of clinic sessions per week, which may include an evening and/or a Saturday morning. The role also requires performing other duties as assigned, maintaining required job skills, professional competencies, current licensure, certification, and ongoing education. The physician must support the hospital mission and observe core job values related to service excellence, work quality, productivity, teamwork, and initiative. Additionally, the physician must demonstrate knowledge and behaviors regarding various hospital programs and policies, including Infection Control, Safety and Risk Management, Emergency Codes, Hazardous Waste, Departmental Safety Policies, Patient Rights and Cultural Diversity, Confidentiality, CQI/QM, Service Excellence Standards, HR Policies, Department Policies, and the Employee Handbook. The position requires the ability to interact and cooperate professionally with patients, families, physicians, care team members, and co-workers.

Requirements

  • Holds State of Illinois licensure and is eligible for appointment to the La Rabida medical staff.
  • Board certified or eligible in Pediatrics.
  • Completed pediatric residency training.
  • Current Illinois Physician license and DEA license.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in pediatrics.
  • Active membership in appropriate professional organizations.
  • CPR required (certifications issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross will be accepted).

  • Ability to speak Spanish desirable.
