About The Position

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and the Department of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (FSM) are seeking a part-time or full-time, non-tenure-eligible Health System Clinician in the Wellness and Weight Management program, part of the Division of Advanced General Pediatrics and Primary Care. The position will be employed by the Lurie Children’s Medical Group (LCMG) and part of the Operating Unit of the Department of Pediatrics. The individual’s clinical responsibilities include outpatient care for children and adolescents (ages 2 to 19) with obesity and related cardio-renal-metabolic complications. The Wellness and Weight Management Program currently sees nearly 3,000 patient visits annually at one of three outpatient locations. You will join a multidisciplinary team which includes: Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, Registered Dietitians, Nursing and Medical Assistant support, Social Work, and Administrative staff. Our program offers individualized, evidence-informed, family-centered care including: Intensive lifestyle interventions, Pharmacotherapy, Coordination with Lurie Children’s Bariatric Surgery Program, and Access to a broad network of Lurie Children’s subspecialists. All faculty members are expected to participate in the educational programs of the Department and FSM, which may include teaching service, training, preceptorship, mentoring, etc. Additionally, all Lurie Children’s faculty members are expected to attend certain divisional and Departmental meetings and engage in other administrative duties as determined by the Division Head. Advocacy work on behalf of patients, families, and the community we serve is an important component of LCMG’s and Lurie Children’s mission. It is expected that all faculty members will support important initiatives in this area. This individual’s clinical time will be primarily based at Lurie Children’s new Austin HOPE Center, located in the Austin neighborhood – a community rich in history and cultural strength that has experienced longstanding underinvestment. This exciting new, multispecialty clinic and hub for pediatric specialty care and community services is being co-developed with the Stone Community Development Corporation and Community Neighborhood Initiatives, driven by feedback from community members. As program needs evolve, clinical responsibilities may expand to additional locations.
