About The Position

Load Control Agents are responsible for load planning and weight and balance calculations, sometimes acting as local operations agents and assisting with cargo duties.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent related work experience
  • One (1) year of previous experience
  • Must be knowledgeable of cargo handling and processing procedures
  • Knowledge and experience of loading and load control on company aircraft
  • Weight & balance knowledge and experience necessary
  • Knowledge of Canadian North’s Cargo Computer Program, Cargo Ramp Procedures Manual and Sabre
  • Must be familiar with handling of dangerous goods and be able to obtain and retain a dangerous goods handling certificate
  • Must hold a valid G2 or G (Class 5) driver’s license
  • Demonstrated strong communication, organizational, problem solving & interpersonal skills
  • Ability to accomplish multiple tasks in high pressure, high volume environment
  • Must be able to obtain and retain a D/A level airport pass
  • Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada
  • Must be located in Yellowknife, NWT

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift driving experience an asset
  • Ability to communicate in Inuktitut a definite asset

Responsibilities

  • Follow the companies Standard Operating Procedures without deviation
  • Promote a safe working culture
  • Load/unload aircraft
  • Provide services to the aircraft on the ground as required
  • Assist Customer Service Agents and/or Cargo Attendants if so required
  • Assist passengers with mobility and special needs
  • Perform commissary duties as part of the specialized work function
  • Completion of daily vehicle/equipment checklist
  • Required to be qualified and maintain qualification on all ramp equipment
  • Perform other duties and functions related to the foregoing
  • Other duties as assigned
