About The Position

The Attendant - Laundry is responsible for various tasks related to the cleaning and maintenance of linens and terry within a casino industry environment. This role involves operating laundry machinery, handling chemicals safely, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the quality of laundered items. The position requires physical stamina and availability for varied shifts, including holidays and weekends, within a 24/7 operation.

Requirements

  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time (7+ hours).
  • Must be available for regularly scheduled work.
  • Must be able to work a variety of hours, holidays, and weekends.
  • Uses potentially dangerous chemicals in a safe and secure manner.
  • Wears eye protection when manually putting chemicals into washers or when using spot treatment chemicals.
  • Observes proper safety practices and reports all unsafe conditions.
  • Uses correct procedures for operating all equipment and correct chemicals for each cleaning process.
  • Follows proper procedure for all lost and found items discovered in soiled laundry.
  • Uses the time clock per policy and notifies the laundry lead, inspector, or supervisor when the clock does not capture a punch or fails to punch the clock during shift.
  • Wears proper uniform as per policy as well as nonslip shoes.

  • Operates the box trucks lift gate in a safe manner to avoid serious injury.

Responsibilities

  • Sorts soiled linen by fabric type.
  • Loads and unloads washing machines and dryers by fabric type.
  • Removes terry from dryer to be folded and loads completed work into carts.
  • Feeds clean linen through an ironer press and loads completed work into carts.
  • Uses potentially dangerous chemicals in a safe and secure manner, wearing eye protection when necessary.
  • Learns operating times of washers and dryers, chemicals, and required settings for each fabric type.
  • Keeps the laundry area clean and cleans all equipment and work areas.
  • Observes proper safety practices and reports unsafe conditions.
  • Monitors laundered items for sub-standard conditions and sets them aside.
  • Applies stain removing chemicals to reclaim stains and discards un-reclaimable items.
  • Keeps a count of production, reclaimed items, and discarded items per shift.
  • Delivers and picks up terry and linen.
  • Assists housekeepers by stripping hotel guest rooms of terry and linen.
  • May assist housekeeping by stocking linen closets.
  • Operates the box trucks lift gate safely.
  • Notifies laundry lead, room inspector, or supervisor if equipment needs adjustment or repair.
  • Uses correct procedures for operating all equipment and correct chemicals for each cleaning process.
  • Follows proper procedure for all lost and found items discovered in soiled laundry.
  • Uses the time clock per policy and notifies lead if there are issues.
  • Wears proper uniform and non-slip shoes.
  • Participates in daily briefings.
  • Follows the Company Service Standards model.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
