Requirements

  • Ability to use simple math, required gages, measuring and weighing devices to insure quality work and have legible handwriting.
  • Able to follow oral and written instructions and perform transactions for own work as required.
  • Must be able to obtain and retain all required material handling equipment certifications required to do the job.
  • Keep area clean and orderly.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and layout work of the storeroom under supervision.
  • Handle all shipments for domestic, exports, dedicated inventory and Canadian.
  • Ensure goods are packed to prevent damage.
  • Calculate cubic, square, and weights.
  • Determine the proper way to load trucks for shipment and handle associated paperwork.
  • Exercise care and judgment in receiving, checking, storing, and taking physical inventory of all supplies, parts, and materials coming into the storeroom, requiring the verification of parts and materials by weighing and counting.
  • Check for correct part number and proper location.
  • Fill orders from a prepared list.
  • Aid in taking physical inventory.
  • Use discretion in making and directing deliveries from the department and have a thorough knowledge of the proper handling and routing of all required reports and forms.
  • Report shortages, damages, and variations in incoming and outgoing materials accurately and promptly to the supervisor or department leader.
  • Operate any power or manual material handling equipment necessary to do the job (crane, forklift, etc.).
  • Perform any and all related storeroom work that is apparent and is assigned.
  • Unload vehicles, move material when and where needed and help where needed when crane is not being used.
  • Maintain a good memory and a willingness to cooperate readily.
