About The Position

The Computing Science and Mathematics program at the Augustana Faculty has a sessional teaching vacancy for Winter Term 2027 to teach AUMAT 328: Cryptography. The Winter term runs from January 4 - April 9, 2027 with exam period to follow. The course description is: "Introduction to cryptography in theory and practice, including its applications and mathematical foundations". Topics include classical cryptosystems, private-key cryptosystems (including DES and AES), hashing and public-key cryptosystems (including RSA), digital signatures, selected topics in cryptography.

Requirements

  • Sessional teaching experience.
  • Knowledge of cryptography theory and practice.
  • Familiarity with classical cryptosystems, private-key cryptosystems (DES, AES), hashing, public-key cryptosystems (RSA), and digital signatures.

Responsibilities

  • Teach AUMAT 328: Cryptography during the Winter Term 2027.
  • Cover topics including classical cryptosystems, private-key cryptosystems (including DES and AES), hashing and public-key cryptosystems (including RSA), digital signatures, and selected topics in cryptography.
