About The Position

The University of Portland Athletics Department is looking for tutors to assist with student-athletes’ academic coursework for all courses. Tutors should feel confident providing writing assistance to the student-athlete. Tutors are expected to be available between 60-90 minutes per week to work with 1-3 student-athletes on study skills, notetaking skills, test preparation, and any other course or assignment-related questions. We are looking for course-specific tutors as well, so please list classes you feel comfortable tutoring. Additionally, tutors will be asked to log tutoring session notes into a database for the Athletics Department to keep track of notes from the sessions. Requirements

  • Flexible availability on weeknights and weekends.
  • Proficiency in assigned courses (at least a B+ grade or higher in the courses you are tutoring in).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous tutoring, teaching, or coaching experience.
  • Green Dot full training certified or willing to go through the Green Dot training.

Responsibilities
