About The Position

The Athletic Department at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), a highly selective institution recognized nationally, seeks a Student Worker to support the Aquatics Center as a Lifeguard. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety and security of patrons using the Aquatics Center. TCNJ is known for its high graduation rates and financial return for students.

Requirements

• Must have current certifications through May 2026 in LGT/First Aid/CPR/AED.
• Must pass Lifeguard tryouts to be hired - tryout will include 1) Timed 50 yard swim 2)Timed 200 yard swim 3) Three mock rescue/AED skills tests.
• Must be able to work weekends.
• Must complete TCNJ Safe Colleges Training and Follow all campus protocals.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred certifications in Preventing Disease Transmission & Oxygen Administration.

Responsibilities

• Enforce all the Aquatic Center policies, rules and regulations.
• Rescue and resuscitate any victim as needed.
• Maintain the Aquatic Center's sanitary appearance.
• Work any scheduled assignments including a minimum number of break and special event hours.
• Attend all in-service training programs.
• Be aware of swim center programs and schedule changes.
