Athletics Facilities Maintenance Worker - Full Time
About The Position
Under the direction of the Director of Maintenance & Operations, prepare gymnasium, athletic fields, the multi-purpose sports complex, grounds, and campus parking lots for scheduled events and classes. Perform various minor maintenance and repair actions as required. The work takes place indoors and outdoors, with exposure to seasonal heat and cold, adverse weather, pollen, dust, and fumes. Evening and weekend work may be required. Physical demands include lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy objects; using hands and fingers to operate athletic and grounds maintenance equipment; reading athletic field marking blueprints; walking over rough or uneven surfaces; climbing ladders and working at heights; standing and walking for extended periods; and bending at the waist. Hazards include working around machinery with moving parts and exposure to fertilizer, pest-control, and cleaning chemicals and their fumes.
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of experience in repair and maintenance of physical education grounds and facilities.
- Valid California Driver’s License.
- Qualified Pesticide Applicator’s Certificate within six months of employment.
