About The Position

This position is for an Athletics/Facilities Assistant at Oxford College of Emory University, located 36 miles east of Atlanta. The role involves performing facility and equipment maintenance and preparation for various athletic events. Daily tasks include headcounts, check-ins, and hourly space walkthroughs. The assistant will prepare athletic fields, inspect outdoor facilities like tennis courts, tracks, and bleachers, and perform routine maintenance and trash removal. Key responsibilities also include assisting with set-up and clean-up for varsity and club sports, special events, camps, and rentals. The role requires picking up and delivering supplies, moving equipment, handling deliveries, and maintaining vehicles. The assistant will monitor and assist visitors with facility access and serve as a first responder for emergencies, including documentation. This is an in-person position at an Emory University location, with no remote work option.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma and one year of experience in facility operations OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • May require a valid Georgia driver's license.
  • An insurable driving record.
  • The ability to bend, stoop and twist and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Performs facility and equipment maintenance and preparation for various athletic events.
  • Performs daily tasks including headcounts, check-ins, and hourly space walkthroughs.
  • Prepares athletic fields for events, including lining and striping fields.
  • Inspects tennis courts, outdoor track and bleachers, and other outdoor facilities.
  • Performs routine maintenance and trash and debris removal.
  • Assists with set-up and clean-up for varsity and club sports, special events and camps and rentals.
  • Picks up and delivers supplies off campus.
  • Moves equipment and handles deliveries, as needed.
  • Keeps vehicles clean and ready for use and ensures inspection and tag are current.
  • Monitors and assists visitors with facility access.
  • Serves as the first responder for emergencies, including supporting the completion of appropriate documentation.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.
