About The Position

The Athletics Department is accepting applications for a part-time Gameday Commentator for video streams throughout the season. The qualified candidate selected for this position will assist in serving as play-by-play commentator for video streaming events for home contests. The role requires compliance with all NCAA Division II and Gulf South Conference rules, regulations, and policies, and professional interaction with officials, coaches, student-athletes, University personnel, and spectators. This position is part of the AUM Warhawks game management team, aiming to enhance the game day atmosphere at AUM Athletics events. AUM Athletics will stream all home games for the 24-25 season, and with a new Gulf South Conference agreement with Flo Sports, play-by-play commentary is required for volleyball and basketball, with recommendations for soccer, baseball, and softball. The role will cover approximately 108 home events during the 2024-25 year, including potential postseason play. It is encouraged that a non-Athletics staff member or non-student fill this role.

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Available on nights and weekends
• Minimum of one (1) year experience as video play-by-play at NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA, AHSAA or AISA institution

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree
• Two (2) years’ experience as play-by-play commentator at NCAA institution

Responsibilities

• Serve as required play-by-play commentary for AUM Athletics events on the Flo Sports Video Platform.
• Prepare relevant notes about each team for the contest.
• Remain neutral in commentary and be respectful of each team.
• Assist with broadcast by switching to different camera angles, when necessary.
• Arrive to the venue 30 minutes to an hour prior to the scheduled contest to ensure all interviews are loaded and equipment is working.
• Remain until the event has concluded.
