About The Position

Concentra is seeking an experienced and self-driven Athletic Trainer (AT) for a PRN onsite position. This role will provide healthcare support at an onsite clinic located at a client's site in Stone Mountain, GA. The primary focus is to promote and maintain the health and well-being of the client's workforce through an occupational medicine program, emphasizing exceptional patient care and the reduction of work-related injuries. The AT-O plays a crucial role in workers' compensation case coordination, managing worker injuries and illnesses, providing health promotion and injury prevention services, offering emergency response, and facilitating return-to-work job placements. This position often involves direct collaboration with the client's Health and Safety Leader to foster a healthier and safer work environment.

Requirements

  • Current First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of demonstrated clinical knowledge of Athletic Trainer services consistent with an Onsite setting.
  • Knowledge of kinesiology or ergonomic assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic first aid treatment for musculoskeletal and non-musculoskeletal injuries and illnesses as specified in Physician Standing Orders, including testing range of motion, strength, reflex and sensory integrity, and functional status.
  • Identify, evaluate, and refer injured associates to appropriate clinicians for work-related injuries and illnesses.
  • Respond to onsite medical emergencies following appropriate action plans and standing orders.
  • Assist in managing Workers' Compensation cases through claim capture and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with the client's Human Resources team and management on return-to-work (RTW) job placement.
  • Track and communicate MSD-related statistics for client stakeholders.
  • Manage the pre-employment functional testing process and provide vision acuity testing.
  • Coordinate injury prevention programs, ergonomic training, and evaluations.
  • Perform comprehensive ergonomic job analyses, including task analyses, risk factor identification and quantification, posture analysis, and body mechanics analysis, and support administrative and ergonomic changes to the work environment.
  • Create job rotation plans for production areas and monitor compliance.
  • Provide objective information about the physical requirements of jobs for job descriptions, referral sources, legal and case management, and pre-employment/RTW functional testing.
  • Create a pre-shift preventative activity program and monitor compliance.
  • Implement treatment plans during rehabilitation that incorporate therapeutic exercise, modalities, and work conditioning as necessary, adhering to state-specific regulations and Physician Standing Orders.
  • Use innovation, creative solutions, and employee empowerment to design and/or implement interventions.
  • Administer drug and alcohol testing.
  • Promote personal health and well-being in the workplace.
  • Perform data analysis to measure direct and indirect costs of musculoskeletal disorders.
  • Provide monthly and annual reports on rehab utilization, cost-savings, and cost avoidance.
  • Complete administrative requirements such as necessary forms and reports in a timely manner, including patient files, invoices, monthly reports, budgets, and expense/outcome tools.
  • Create an environment of trust and caring to empower workers to take responsibility for reducing or eliminating controllable injury and illness risk factors.
  • Communicate regularly with safety personnel regarding rehab and injury prevention activities.
  • Attend meetings and serve on committees as requested.
  • Author articles for various newsletters and the company Intranet site as requested.
