About The Position

This position works autonomously with intercollegiate athletic teams providing practice and competition coverage with limited travel, under the supervision of the Carroll University Head Athletic Trainer. The role involves the delivery of athletics health care services with the student athlete at the center of care. Responsibilities include evaluating, treating, and rehabilitating injuries/conditions of student-athletes, assisting with inventory and equipment maintenance, and complying with all rules and regulations of Carroll University, NCAA, and CCIW. The Athletic Trainer will maintain appropriate medical records, supervise daily operations of the athletic training rooms, and serve as a preceptor for students in an accredited athletic training curriculum. They will also be responsible for referring injuries to team physicians when necessary, carrying out prescribed treatment plans and rehabilitation protocols, and supervising work study students. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
  • Athletic Trainer Certification (ATC) within 90 days of hire.
  • Licensed Athletic Trainer in State of WI within 90 days of hire.
  • BLS (CPR) Certification, or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • AED certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of the Carroll University Head Athletic Trainer, this position works autonomously with intercollegiate athletic teams providing practice and competition coverage with limited travel.

  • Carry out prescribed treatment plans and rehabilitation protocols as directed by team physicians and/or other medical specialists.
  • Supervision of work study students placed by the university.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
