About The Position

Provides care, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and related problems in cadet-athletes. Assumes primary responsibility for an assigned athletic team(s).

Requirements

  • Primary responsibility for an assigned athletic team(s).
  • Daily athletic training services for assigned team(s).
  • Management of injuries and illnesses, including prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation strategies.
  • Proper record-keeping of injuries, treatment, rehabilitation, and exposure.
  • Effective communication with Associate Athletics Director, Head Athletic Trainer, Supervisor, coaches, parents, military personnel, and physicians regarding cadet health and safety.
  • Design and supervision of rehabilitation programs.
  • Referral of cadet-athletes to appropriate physicians.
  • Collaboration with sports performance staff on cadet-athlete wellness and return to play.
  • Education and instruction on prevention and care of musculoskeletal injuries.
  • Supervision of athletic training students and cadet managers/trainers.
  • Implementation of risk mitigation strategies.
  • Performance of other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver athletic training services daily to assigned team(s).
  • Provide care and manage injuries and illnesses, including prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation strategies.
  • Maintain proper records of injuries, treatment, rehabilitation, and exposure.
  • Communicate effectively with the Associate Athletics Director, Head Athletic Trainer, Supervisor, coaches, parents, military personnel, and physicians in all matters of cadet health and safety.
  • Design and supervise rehabilitation programs.
  • Refer cadet-athletes to the appropriate physician according to accepted guidelines.
  • Collaborate with sports performance staff (e.g., strength and nutrition) on matters of cadet-athlete wellness and return to play.
  • Provide education and instruction to cadet-athletes on the prevention and care of musculoskeletal injuries.
  • Supervise athletic training students and cadet managers/trainers for assigned team(s).
  • Implements risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with the performance team.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Associate Athletics Director, Head Athletic Trainer.
