About The Position

The Athletic Trainer supports Wichita State University Women’s Basketball at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. The role designs and implements conditioning and rehabilitation programs focused on athlete safety and recovery, evaluates and manages acute injuries, coordinates patient care and medical documentation, and prepares athletes for safe participation in practice and competition in accordance with professional regulations and medical guidelines. The position is full-time and scheduled for day shifts.

Requirements

• Licensed Athletic Trainer credential from the Kansas Board of Healing Arts, obtained before the hire date or job transfer date.
• BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of the hire date or job transfer date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
• Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement comprehensive conditioning and rehabilitation programs that prioritize athlete safety and recovery through customized nutrition and scheduling.
• Evaluate and manage acute injuries, providing immediate care and developing long-term treatment strategies for athletes.
• Coordinate patient care by maintaining detailed medical documentation and serving as a link between physicians, sports performance staff, and athletes.
• Prepare athletes for safe participation in practice and competition, ensuring activities align with professional regulations and medical guidelines.
