About The Position

Concordia is a Lutheran higher education community committed to helping students develop in mind, body and spirit for service to Christ in the Church and in the world. Position Summary The purpose of this position is to fulfill the university's mission to help students develop in mind, body and spirit providing care, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and sports related illnesses to student athletes in all Concordia University sports. This position is responsible for providing care at home and away contests.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational abilities and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a schedule
  • Knowledge and skill in the use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Access and Word; and academic software
  • Overnight travel required
  • Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS)
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field is required
  • Minimum of two years of closely related work experience or specific experience, skill set, or training in area.
  • Minimum of two years of athletic training experience
  • CPR and NATABOC certified and skill in first aid
  • Must have or be eligible for Wisconsin License

Nice To Haves

  • a master's degree is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide care, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and sports related illnesses
  • Serve as a licensed athletic trainer for various sports
  • Administer emergency care to athletes as needed and within his/her training and capabilities
  • Conduct him/herself in a professional manner at all intercollegiate practices, contests, and meetings
  • Consult with physicians and/or other health care professionals
  • Consult with coaches in a professional manner
  • Assist in the supervision of athletic training students and serve as an approved clinical instructor (ACI)
  • Develop and implement intercollegiate athletic training programs
  • Knowledge of the Commission on the Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) accreditation preferred
  • Assist in the management, organization, coordination and supervision of the athletic training room and the athletic training program
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
