About The Position

Ohio Dominican University is seeking an Athletic Trainer to support and deliver clinical care to pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients. This role involves collaboration with physicians to provide clinical examination, diagnosis, therapeutic intervention, rehabilitation, preventative services, and emergency care. The Athletic Trainer will develop professional relationships with patients and families, provide a high level of customer service, and continuously seek ways to improve clinical services for optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy.
Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.
Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training or related field, required.
Licensed as an Athletic Trainer in the State of Ohio, required.
Certified with the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer, required.
CPR certification, required.
Proficient with MS Office and electronic medical records.

Nice To Haves

Master’s Degree, preferred.
Three years of athletic training experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

Collaborates with and supports physicians in the delivery of high-quality patient care in a clinical and rehabilitative setting.
Assists with performing age-appropriate evaluations and treatments for pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients.
Completes timely and accurate documentation of injuries, treatments, encounters, and billing of services in the electronic medical record in accordance with NCH policies.
Coordinates and communicates with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare team members to ensure excellent customer service and continuity and quality of care.
Develops professional relationships with patients, families, and other medical providers to become a valued healthcare resource.
Ensures delivery of high-level customer service and education.
Continually looks for ways to improve the quality of their patient experience.
Maintains knowledge of scientifically based and medically established best practices for pediatric and adolescent sports medicine care.
Commits to remaining up to date in clinical care.
Commits to self-directed professional growth and participates in staff development, continuing education, and community engagement activities sponsored by NCH.
