About The Position

Salem State University's Athletics program is built on the belief that student-athletes deserve the same quality of care and preparation as any competitor in the country. As a member of our sports medicine staff, you'll play a meaningful role in keeping that commitment — working directly with NCAA Division III student-athletes to support their health, performance, and long-term wellbeing. Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine/Head Athletic Trainer, you will provide comprehensive athletic training services and assist in the implementation of a comprehensive sports medicine program to 15 varsity athletic teams. This is a hands-on, student-facing position with genuine scope to shape how care is delivered on campus and potentially serve as a preceptor for the MSAT program. Please Note: This is a temporary, full-time, 10-month position with non-traditional hours including nights, weekends and travel with one high risk team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • One year of collegiate athletic training experience or equivalent
  • Current BOC Certification
  • Possess or be eligible to acquire Massachusetts Athletic Trainer Licensure
  • Professional Rescuer CPR/AED certification

Nice To Haves

  • Excellent communications skills; both written and oral
  • Ability to successfully use and integrate MS Office or similar products in the working environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
