About The Position

We are seeking a Full Time certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to cover at Valencia High School. The Athletic Trainer will be responsible for local high school outreach programs. Duties include practice and event coverage with training room hours. Prevent, assess, and treat emergency, acute, and chronic injuries; Recondition athletes and active individuals after injury to prevent injury recurrence, impairment, functional limitations, and disabilities. Develop working relationships with area schools and industries to provide offsite outreach specialty programs. Act as a liaison between hospital, athletes, parents, coaches, school administration and supervising physician; coordinating care and referrals. Prescribe routine and corrective exercises to strengthen muscles. Render first aid to injured players such as artificial respiration, cleaning and bandaging wounds, and applying heat and cold to promote healing. Communicate with coaches, parents, clinical team, physician team and expanded healthcare team as needed. Treat chronic minor injuries and related disabilities to maintain athletes’ performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year college or university required
  • Unrestricted Athletic Trainer (ATC) licensure to practice in State of employment

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and training preferred
  • Newly licensed encouraged to apply
