About The Position

The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is searching for an Athletic Trainer to be responsible for the coordination of healthcare for student-athletes in in the sports of Men’s and Women’s Track & Field and Cross Country. This includes but is not limited to: assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and referrals of injuries and illnesses. This position is responsible for facilitating and maintaining communication between student-athletes, coaches, healthcare providers, supervisors, and other support personnel regarding student-athlete medical issues. This person must be able to comply with all current NCAA, SEC, UAA, and Sports Health Department policies and regulations governing the operation of the University of Florida’s intercollegiate athletics program. This position requires the incumbent to have strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills; be organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated; work independently and as part of a collaborative team; multitask effectively; engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds and with high energy, intense personalities; and work a non-standard work week which will include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight travel. Requirements

  • Master's Degree in appropriate area of specialization
  • NATABOC certified
  • Eligible for Florida licensure (completion required within 3 months of hire)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Two years of experience as a certified athletic trainer

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with elite athletes at a high school, club, collegiate, or professional level
  • Experience working with a collegiate or professional program for Track & Field and Cross Country
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of listed requirement.
