Actively collaborates with the health care/educational team which consists of the Director of Sports Medicine, team physicians, Vanderbilt University Medical Center specialists, athletic trainers and physical therapists to meet patient care, outcomes and system treatment, rehabilitation care to athletes using modalities, personnel, equipment and supply resources. . Vanderbilt Health is seeking a PRN Athletic Trainer to support our Sports Medicine Department, providing essential coverage for contracts with the Nashville Predators hockey camps, Nashville Soccer Club Academy, Vanderbilt Rec Sports, Metro Nashville Schools and Wilson County Schools. This role is perfect for a skilled professional who thrives in dynamic sports environments and values collaboration with elite athletes and medical teams. As a PRN Athletic Trainer, you will: Provide on-site athletic training services during scheduled sports events. Deliver injury prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation for athletes. Communicate effectively with coaches, athletes, and medical staff to ensure safe return-to-play decisions. Maintain accurate documentation and follow Vanderbilt Health protocols. Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training or related field.
• BOC Certification (Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers).
• Licensed by the state of Tennessee as an athletic trainer.
• CPR Certification (current and valid).
• Minimum 1 year of experience as an Athletic Trainer.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to fast-paced sports environments.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates in establishing athletic training and sports medicine services, plan of care; then coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient/athlete care needs across the continuum.
• Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's/athlete's care and management to determine patient/athlete functional capabilities within defined activity levels.
• Continually utilizes Athletic Training skills and resources to evaluate patient's/athlete's functional capabilities towards optimal, safe participation, and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
• Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
