This PRN position is to assist with high school and community event coverage. The Athletic Trainer will conduct assessments of injuries and refer patients to the appropriate healthcare services. They will provide clear communication to patients regarding self-care, prevention, and treatment techniques. The role involves developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, establishing and executing treatment plans based on patient evaluations and health goals, and continuously monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatment as needed to ensure effective outcomes. The Athletic Trainer can direct athletes in performance enhancement programs for fitness or injury prevention. They will identify and attend to factors affecting the patient’s physical and emotional comfort, ensuring sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and needs. Planning and facilitating patient discharge by providing at-home care instructions, family education, community referrals, and necessary equipment orders is also a key responsibility. Completing all required documentation according to department policies, including patient assessments, progress notes, and billing records, while ensuring compliance with insurance guidelines is essential. Identifying and supporting opportunities for community outreach to increase awareness of services and health education, fostering partnerships and potential referrals, and ensuring the treatment area is clean and organized, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety standards are also part of the role.
