This position offers a $15,000.00 sign-on bonus with a two-year commitment for eligible candidates. The Athletic Trainer II will mentor staff, supervise work performed by staff, and contribute to the management of daily operations of the department. This role involves recognizing, managing, and rehabilitating injuries to professional, amateur, and recreational athletes, as well as providing techniques for injury prevention. The Athletic Trainer II works independently, under the direction of the Sports Medicine Supervisor and Team Physicians, to manage daily operations within a school district, college, or professional athletic medicine program. They will act as a point of contact for Allegheny Health Network (AHN) to the district or athletic department for communication regarding injury management within the athletic program, liaising with athletic directors, general managers, coaches, school nurses, physicians, parents, athletes, and sports medicine staff. Additionally, this role involves developing exercise programs, performing data entry/recordkeeping, assisting with facility cleaning, and monitoring supplies. The Athletic Trainer II serves as a peer mentor, orients new athletic trainers, demonstrates proficiency in workflow, documentation, communication, and customer service, and provides feedback for other athletic trainer positions. They will also mentor students and interns and assist employees with concussion baseline software and educating on mass testing exams. This position provides clinical leadership oversight and serves as a department resource for clinical questions for Athletic Trainer I and II positions.
