About The Position

Shriners Children’s is seeking a full-time Athletic Trainer, Certified (ATC-Clinical) to join their sports medicine team at the Vancouver Clinic. This role involves working in an outpatient clinic setting under the supervision of a physician, providing direct patient care, and acting as a clinical extender for sports medicine and fracture clinics. The ATC-Clinical will be an essential team member, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and contribute to the expansion of sports health and medicine services. The position may also involve providing coverage to community partners as an ATC-Community on an as-needed basis.

Requirements

  • Degree in Athletic Training, Bachelor’s or Master’s
  • Current Board of Certification (BOC) or applicable state credential
  • AT Licensure as required by the state where practice occurs
  • 3-5 years in athletic training experience
  • Current First Aid CPR/AED Certification (BLS)

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of experience in clinical placement
  • Advanced degree in athletic training
  • Additional relevant certification preferred (CSCS, CNS, LMT, etc.)
  • BLS instructor certified

Responsibilities

  • Provide detailed rooming tasks in the Shriners Children's clinic on a daily basis.
  • Deliver clinical services for the Sports Medicine physician.
  • Offer athletic training services to patients, including initial evaluations and acting as a clinical extender for sports medicine and fracture clinics (both non-operative and operative).
  • Assist the attending provider and medical staff in clinic with scheduling and chart review.
  • Fit sports medicine braces as recommended by the physician or provided by the hospital.
  • Potentially provide sports medicine coverage to community partners as an Athletic Trainer Certified-Community on an as-needed basis.
