About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Athletic Trainer to join the U.S. Army’s rapidly expanding Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) program at various Army bases across the United States. This is more than just an athletic training role; it’s an opportunity to be part of the Army’s largest human performance optimization initiative. Join a mission-driven team supporting the U.S. Army’s Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) Program. As an Athletic Trainer (ATC), you will play a key role in optimizing Soldier readiness, injury prevention, recovery, and performance within a high-performance, tactical environment. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside an interdisciplinary team dedicated to enhancing the health and durability of active-duty service members. This role is ideal for Athletic Trainers looking to transition from traditional sports settings into a structured, mission-driven environment, working with tactical athletes while maintaining a strong work-life balance. This is fully on-site at Fort Wainwright, AK (Fairbanks, AK)

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional AT experience (post-certification), with active practice in at least 2 of the last 3 years
  • Previous experience with active populations such as military, collegiate, professional sports, tactical, or H2F programs, Strength & conditioning environments.
  • Ability to obtain AT licensure in the assigned state if not currently licensed in the state of hire.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI), or the ability to obtain.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen to meet federal government contract requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with a diverse team that may include physical therapists, strength and conditioning coaches, dietitians, cognitive performance experts, and occupational therapists.
  • Contribute to soldier readiness by delivering prevention-focused care, acute injury management, and rehabilitation for musculoskeletal injuries.
  • Support performance optimization strategies that address the five H2F readiness domains: physical, mental, nutritional, sleep, and spiritual.
  • Support unit leaders with evidence-based strategies to reduce injuries, promote recovery, and enhance overall unit readiness.
  • Leverage data and tools developed by the Center for Initial Military Training (CIMT) to track and improve performance outcomes.
  • Serve as a key player in improving soldier performance, ACFT pass rates, and resilience across the force.
