About The Position

The Student Athletic Trainer Aide is responsible for providing support to the Athletic Training staff by assisting with the day to day running of the athletic training room, including game day events. This position requires enrollment at Cochise College with a minimum of 6 credits per semester and 3 credits in the summer, and maintaining a 2.0 G.P.A or higher. Students attending Cochise College on an F-1 Visa require full-time enrollment with a minimum of 12 credits per semester and six credits in the summer. The role involves assisting with practice and game day set-up, cleaning and stocking the athletic training facility, and maintaining updated athlete records while adhering to HIPAA compliance standards. Employees are expected to follow all college policies and procedures, work cooperatively with others, and possess strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • Enrollment at Cochise College with a minimum of 6 credits per semester and 3 credits in the summer
  • Possess and maintain a 2.0 G.P.A or higher
  • Students attending Cochise College on an F-1 Visa require full-time enrollment with a minimum of 12 credits per semester and six credits in the summer
  • Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of basic Google Drive programs, and possess proficient typing skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality related to sensitive information in relation to HIPAA
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional, helpful manner
  • Ability to multi-task and organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion with an attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to team environment
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and take appropriate actions to resolve problems using independent judgment and decision-making processes
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other department staff, faculty, students and the public

Responsibilities

  • Assists with practice and game day set-up of water, ice, and other essential equipment
  • Assists with cleaning and stocking in the athletic training facility
  • Helps keep updated athlete records while maintaining HIPAA compliance standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor
