Athletic Center Monitor
About The Position
The Athletic Center Monitor oversees daily operations at the Bear Athletic Center, serving as the initial point of contact for students, staff, faculty, and the wider campus community. Responsibilities include staffing the Welcome Desk, swiping P-Cards and answering general questions, as well as maintaining the Fitness Center through equipment cleaning and safety oversight. This role is essential in fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment by greeting visitors, sharing facility information, and enforcing policies that ensure a positive experience for all patrons. This position could potentially work the Welcome Desk, Fitness Center, Equipment Room, or the Climbing Wall.
Requirements
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift/move up to 100 pounds
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, professional, and customer-service oriented
- Willingness to learn and take initiative
Responsibilities
- Greet all visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Provide accurate information about Fitness Center and facility amenities, policies, and programs
- Enforce facility rules to promote a safe, clean, and respectful environment
- Supervise facility use and participant conduct as needed
- Support fellow student employees and contribute to a positive team culture
- Assist with other duties related to the daily operations of the facility
