Champion’s QUEST is hiring an Athlete Performance Coach (APC) for its Sports Academy. The position begins as a part-time assistant coach, with the opportunity to build experience, learn the organization’s systems, and progress to a full-time professional role within a year. The role focuses on mentoring and instructing youth athletes in a positive, professional manner and helping them develop physically, technically, and mentally. The academy serves athletes ages 7–18, including volleyball players seeking college opportunities. An APC is a strength and conditioning coach who programs performance workouts, coaches athletes and monitors progress, teaches sport skills, recruits athletes into the academy, and assists with college recruiting. Coaches also contribute to a fun and effective athlete-development experience across physical performance, technical skills, mental toughness, and college recruiting; support academy growth; contribute ideas and continuing education; participate in in-house training; and follow their work availability schedule and hours. The organization seeks a coach with a degree in Human Performance, Kinesiology, or a similar science field and experience as an NCAA volleyball athlete. An outgoing, extroverted personality and entrepreneurial spirit are emphasized. Candidates should want a long-term career in the local sports community. The posting describes a longer-term compensation goal of $60,000 to over $100,000 per year with revenue sharing, but does not provide a salary range for the initial assistant-coach position. A promotion to Master Coach requires at least four years of experience and staff-management skills, including leadership experience; local networks or connections are needed to grow a sport-specific academy.
