About The Position

Brodie League is a rapidly growing sports brand redefining adult recreational basketball by offering a professional-quality experience focused on culture, competition, and community. Our mission is to ensure every league night is the best night of the week for our athletes. The Athlete Experience Specialist (AES) is the primary point of contact for athletes and fans, responsible for creating a welcoming, high-energy atmosphere and representing the Brodie brand with professionalism. The goal is to foster a strong sense of community and ensure every athlete and fan feels valued, making the AES role crucial to delivering an exceptional gameday experience.

Requirements

• Outgoing, high-energy personality with a natural ability to make people feel welcome.
• Strong communication skills and a professional, approachable presence.
• Availability for evenings and weekends (game nights are non-negotiable).
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-energy event environment.
• Genuine passion for sports, community, and delivering exceptional experiences.
• Must operate as a self-employed individual and be responsible for own tax remittances and HST obligations.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in events, hospitality, sports, or customer-facing service roles.
• Familiarity with or connection to Ottawa's basketball or recreational sports community.
• Experience as a player or fan in a competitive rec league setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet athletes, fans, and guests upon arrival, establishing a high-energy and welcoming tone.
• Efficiently check in players and manage front-of-house flow.
• Address questions, provide directions, and resolve minor issues promptly.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of the game night environment according to Brodie's standards.
• Help maintain high energy levels throughout the gym during the entire event.
• Contribute to a consistent, premium game night atmosphere across all locations.
• Represent Brodie League with professionalism, enthusiasm, and pride at all times.
• Engage meaningfully with athletes and fans to build a genuine sense of community.
• Act as a brand ambassador for Brodie in all interactions.
