About The Position

Headset Technicians support the ISU Football program by providing reliable, game-critical technical assistance for communication systems during all home and away games and select practices. This role ensures that sideline and coaches’ booth communication equipment is fully operational, properly maintained, and quickly serviced when issues arise.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and break down all sideline and coaches’ booth communication systems for games and designated practices.
  • Prepare, test, and configure all wiring, belt packs, headsets, and related components to ensure full system readiness.
  • Pack, transport, and organize equipment between the equipment room, semi‑trailer, and game sites.
  • Troubleshoot communication systems efficiently and effectively during live practices and games.
  • Attend all football games and participate in headset vendor training sessions.
  • Communicate clearly, professionally, and promptly with coaches, staff, and fellow technicians.
  • Learn and adhere to all ISU, NCAA, conference, and Athletics Department policies and procedures.
