About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for ensuring compliance through a successful expectation of all 4473 backgrounds and ensuring A&D bound book is in compliance with all ATF requirements. The role involves inspecting federal background check forms for errors, maintaining compliance updates for the A&D book and ATF regulations, assisting with firearm inventories, and ensuring accurate and timely disposition of firearm sales. The associate will proofread forms, resolve customer errors, maintain logs, and complete accurate reporting including trace requests and error reporting. Administrative duties and enforcement of safety, health, and security rules are also part of the role.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, CRM Software, Point of Service Systems; Internet Software.

Responsibilities

Inspects all 4473 federal background check forms are free from errors.
Ensures needed compliance updates of the A&D book and all ATF regulations.
Assists with routine firearm inventories to ensure all open-entry firearms are in stock and match systems.
Is responsible for the accurate and timely disposition of all firearm sales.
Proofreads 4473s for errors prior to filing.
Ensures resolution is attempted with customers in the event there is an outstanding error on any related ATF forms by following the detailed ATF 4473 Error Correction Process.
Maintains backup log of multiple handgun sales, maintains completion and filing of all department paperwork.
Is responsible for the complete and accurate reporting including, but not limited to: ATF trace requests, 4473 error reporting, biannual bound book, check and balance gun exception report.
Performs administrative duties.
Enforces safety, health, and security rules.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
All other duties as required by management.
