About The Position

Textron Weapon Systems is seeking a Senior ATE Project Technical Lead (Level IV) to drive the architecture, development, and deployment of mission-critical Automated Test Equipment (ATE). In this senior leadership role, you will guide interdisciplinary teams through the entire lifecycle of complex test systems, ensuring execution meets rigorous cost, schedule, and technical requirements. This role combines high-level systems test engineering, hardware/software design oversight, and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) tracking. It is ideal for a veteran defense engineering leader who excels at bridging legacy Automatic Test Systems (ATS) frameworks with modern automated hardware/software solutions.

Requirements

  • Must possess the ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, or related Scientific field
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of dedicated ATE / ATS development experience, with a proven track record of technical team leadership in a defense or aerospace environment
  • Deep, intimate technical knowledge of COTS instrumentation hardware, rack-and-stack electrical/mechanical design, and TPS engineering workflows
  • Demonstrable experience in Cost Account Management (CAM) and project tracking within an EVMS / IMS framework
  • High competency in ATE/ATS Requirements Analysis, formal system validation, and military/aerospace test certification practices
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex engineering challenges into clear executive and customer-facing presentations
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build alignment across engineering, project management, and external stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Lead, oversee, and coordinate all interdisciplinary technical work across electrical, mechanical, and software design teams to deploy robust ATE solutions
  • Direct the design, integration, and deployment of test equipment utilizing Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) instrumentation, custom electrical/mechanical interfaces, and specialized software
  • Oversight of legacy Automatic Test Systems (ATS) architectures, including the development, validation, and integration of Test Program Sets (TPS)
  • Serve as the Cost Account Manager (CAM), taking ownership of status reporting, tracking the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and utilizing EVMS to keep projects on time and on budget
  • Oversee comprehensive ATE Requirements Analysis, lead high-visibility Design Review presentations, and spearhead formal ATE Certification, Calibration, and Self-Test methodologies
  • Foster strong intra- and inter-disciplinary collaboration, serving as the central technical point of contact for company personnel, leadership, customers, and external suppliers
