About The Position

ATO International maintains a global focus in three key areas: Leadership, Policy, and Operations. In Leadership, the role involves representing and promoting U.S. air traffic standards, procedures, and technology in support of a cohesive global air transportation system with international aviation organizations like ICAO, CANSO, and IGIA. In Policy, the role requires reviewing ICAO-initiated documents and positions to ensure coordination within ATO, across FAA lines of business, and through IGIA. In Operations, the role assists with coordination and oversight of international initiatives and ATM standards, collaborating with ANSP partners and Industry through bilateral and multilateral forums to address operational issues, gain efficiencies, and promote harmonized airspace.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, math or science
  • 15 Years relevant experience
  • When supporting tasks that are Air Traffic Operations, Air Traffic Safety System, Air Traffic Management, Air Traffic Operations Training, Air Traffic Safety System Training, or Air Traffic Management Training, for the Senior and Senior with Special Certification Levels, any combination of degree, certification and relevant experience will be considered if the relevant experience requirement is satisfied (i.e. degree requirements will be waived for certified air traffic controllers).

Responsibilities

  • Represent and promote U.S. air traffic standards, procedures, and technology in support of a cohesive global air transportation system with international aviation organizations like ICAO, CANSO, and IGIA.
  • Review ICAO-initiated policies, standards, and other documents and the positions crafted in response to them to ensure coordination within ATO, across other necessary FAA lines of business, and through IGIA.
  • Assist with coordination and oversight of international initiatives and ATM standards.
  • Work collaboratively with ANSP partners and Industry through bilateral and multilateral forums to address operational issues, gain efficiencies, and promote harmonized airspace.
