The ATC Director of Placement collaborates with ATC staff and school district partners to ensure the successful placement and certification of ATC fellows as classroom teachers, including the fulfillment of the state-mandated one-year supervised teacher residency during the third year. Primary responsibilities for this position include building and maintaining partnerships with high-need K-12 public school districts through frequent communication, explicit expectations, and regular governance meetings; matching fellows to appropriate teaching vacancies in partner districts and assisting fellows with the district hiring process; coordinating teacher licensure, monitoring fellow licensure progress, and supporting fellows with meeting Arkansas licensure requirements; selecting, training, and managing qualified Experienced Mentor Teachers (EMTs); and facilitating progress monitoring, data-sharing, and support-coordination between the fellow’s ATC coach, district EMT, and school leaders. Additional responsibilities for this position include collaborating with ATC staff on team-wide responsibilities (including team meetings, recruitment events, and fellow selection); professional development events (including event logistics and role-specific programming); the six-week summer institute for incoming fellows (including fellow onboarding and provisional licensure); and other administrative duties as needed. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. The ATC Director of Placement must be able and willing to travel across the state by automobile and be available to work some nights and weekends. The Director must also be available for the six-week summer institute for incoming Fellows which will require them to live and work on-site during portions of the summer training. This is a one-year appointment, renewable based on the need for the position, availability of funding, and continued satisfactory level of performance in the role.
