We seek a clinician‑investigator to join a dynamic and collaborative academic environment. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue and obtain an NIH career development (K) award and to establish an independent, externally funded research program. In addition to research, this role includes providing inpatient consultative care as part of an interdisciplinary team that includes advanced practice providers, social work, chaplaincy, and pharmacy. The physician will provide expert symptom management across serious illness, including complex pain, dyspnea, nausea, delirium, and anxiety, using evidence-based pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic approaches tailored to patient goals of care. This role will facilitate discussion and clarification of goals of care for patients and families and collaborate with the primary medical team to establish appropriate treatment plan options based on the goals of care discussion. The position also involves a strong commitment to education and mentorship. The candidate will teach and evaluate learners at all levels, including medical students, PA/NP students, pharmacy trainees, residents, and fellows, and will help recruit speakers for our Lunch and Learn sessions for Continuing Palliative Education. We enjoy a close collaborative relationship with UF Health Hospital and pride ourselves in professional and cooperative interdisciplinary care. The Department of Medicine (DOM) Research Hub includes over 40 principal investigators across 10 divisions, providing extensive opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and translational research. Rank and Tenure status will be commensurate with qualifications.
