About The Position

That growth has led us to expand to different markets and we are in need of an Assurance Senior Manager to be at the center of our business needs in our San Franisco, CA office. As the Assurance Senior Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing multiple audit engagements for a wide range of clients, focusing primarily on privately held companies in a variety of industries. Your leadership and expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial statements and disclosures, providing clients with valuable insights, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders. Traditionally responsibilities of the Senior Assurance Manager will include advising the client on various economic and regulatory risks within their industry, resolving complex accounting issues, apply GAAP and GAAS consistently within complex situations, writing technical consultation memos on GAAP / GAAS issues, and documenting, validating, testing and assessing various financial reporting control systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Accounting or equivalent required
  • Ten (10) or more years prior work experience in public accounting required.
  • Prior significant supervisory experience.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of successfully leading and motivating diverse teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to build strong client relationship and interact effectively with stakeholders.
  • Active licensed US CPA, recognized active International Equivalent or unique qualification as defined by Firm’s Assurance Licensing Policy, required
  • Experience in the use of various assurance applications and research tools as is appropriate for this level
  • Microsoft Office Products, including Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Sound GAAP and GAAS knowledge
  • Possess proven solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess excellent people development and delegation skills, including training/instruction and engagement scheduling and budgeting
  • Possess executive presence - need to be able to be primary contact for the client, prepare and present presentations to clients and potential clients
  • Possess client development/relationship-building skills
  • Possess solid decision-making skills
  • Able to resolve complex accounting issues
  • Able to be responsible for business development and marketing
  • Able to be responsible for engagement profitability including billings and collections

Nice To Haves

  • MBA/Masters degree in Accountancy preferred.
  • If active international equivalent or unique qualifications, required to obtain an active US CPA license within approved timeframe as defined by firm licensing requirement guidelines
