About The Position

The Third Party Attestation (TPA) practice helps large global and growth companies address external compliance requirements related to technology, security, system processing, and privacy. Under the direction of the engagement team, the Assurance Intern will learn to prepare third-party attestation reports, including SOC 1, SOC 2, SOC 3, SOC for Cybersecurity, WebTrust for CAs, HITRUST, SSPA, ISO, MRC, and CSA STAR reports. The intern will learn and apply relevant governing standards while documenting, validating, testing, and assessing control systems, including internal controls.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions as directed.
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
• Ability and willingness to travel as needed.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to successfully interact with professionals at all levels.

Nice To Haves

• Focus in Accounting or Information Systems.
• Leadership experience.
• Prior internship or experience in public accounting or internal auditing.

Responsibilities

• Test and document internal control systems across a variety of industries.
• Participate in reviews of internal controls.
• Assist in preparing reports and recommendations related to work performed.
• Prepare work papers in accordance with BDO policy.
• Develop and maintain relationships with engagement team members and client personnel.
• Apply educational background to work performed.
• Perform other duties as required.
