About The Position

A typical day as an Assurance Associate involves performing audit, review, and compilation procedures for clients across various industries. This role is responsible for all phases of client engagements, including the preparation of workpapers, financial statements, and audit reports. The Associate also assists with planning and scheduling engagements. The role may include participating in client engagement meetings to determine audit timelines and objectives, analyzing and preparing trial balances, complex financial statements, and audit reports using audit software, Word, and Excel. Specific tasks include performing schedule computations for accruals, property, and equipment, calculating depreciation expenses, and preparing long-term debt schedules. The Associate will reconcile accounting information to control accounts, assist with financial analysis to improve client internal controls and accounting procedures, and proof financial statements and other accounting documents. Maintaining awareness of general business trends and applying that knowledge to client issues is also key. The role requires performing fieldwork at client locations and attending training seminars, professional development, and networking events, while ensuring timely and accurate performance on assigned projects and maintaining compliance with project budgets, turnaround times, and deadlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
  • 1-2 years of experience auditing in a public accounting setting.
  • Knowledge of auditing standards and accounting principles.
  • Demonstrates critical and analytical thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting priorities with work projects.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and clients.
  • Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and use of various software packages.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship.

  • Valid CPA license or working towards obtaining CPA license preferred.
