This role is responsible for driving compliance with daily safety requirements and fostering a culture of safety. The position involves effective communication with associates across multiple avenues and shifts regarding business objectives, current issues, and process improvements. The Assistant Planning Manager will support the Planning Manager in developing the annual budget, monitoring controllable accounts weekly, and reporting key performance and financial figures to upper management and Corporate. The role also includes pushing out daily Corporate shipping priorities, tracking inbound trailers for priority products, and identifying/implementing process improvements. Additionally, the position provides operations and inventory support to other facilities, handles store inquiries and escalated issues, and assists associates with HR-related matters such as attendance, pay, benefits, job changes, terminations, I-9 verification, unemployment claims, and workplace accommodations. The role also participates in hiring, setting goals, providing feedback, managing associate performance, and offering coaching and developmental opportunities to prepare associates for advancement.
