The BNSF Railway Finance Department provides innovative strategic solutions and world-class financial services to support BNSF's overall performance. Within the Finance Department, several specialized departments contribute to its overall mission: Controller, Revenue Management, Strategic Sourcing, Tax, Treasury, and Strategic Studies. Each department is vital in managing BNSF's financial health and strategic financial planning. These departments work collaboratively to secure BNSF's economic stability and support its growth and innovation within the railway industry. This is a full-time position located in Fort Worth, TX. For certain positions, including this one, employees can work one day per week remotely. These ranges reflect what BNSF Railway reasonably expects to pay for this position, based on the role’s level, scope, and responsibilities. Final compensation and position level will be determined by factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Requirements

Able to work now and in the future without BNSF’s assistance (whether monetary, through sponsorship, or otherwise) in obtaining, maintaining, or extending employment authorization (including H-1B, STEM OPT/CPT, or TN nonimmigrant status).
Bachelor’s degree in related discipline (Accouting preferred)
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in finance, accounting, or related field.
Strong understanding of financial reporting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Able to research accounting and reporting issues and propose conclusions on the proper accounting treatment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities.
Strong project management skills

Nice To Haves

Masters’ degree in accounting or business administration
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Public accounting experience

Responsibilities

Help manage the process of quarterly and annual filings with the SEC and other regulatory agencies
Assist in technical research on SEC and accounting related issues
Review iXBRL and implement taxonomy updates for SEC filings
Assist with quarterly communications and deliverables to parent company
Work directly with CFO and Controller on review of filings and help lead quarterly and ad hoc meetings with senior leadership
Help manage various audits and reviews performed by independent auditors
Assist in the preparation and review of various ad hoc financial reporting requests and other special projects
