This position oversees the Logistics Planning Distribution Services team in the Service Parts Procurement Center (SPPC). The department evaluates supply chain efficiency and identifies opportunities for improvement, coordinating with SPPC groups to minimize costs and maximize throughput throughout the supply chain. Logistics Planning supports AHM Parts Centers and Hubs with storage optimization, process and system improvements, efficiency gains, future storage capacity planning, and capital expenditure planning to maintain sufficient network capacity while minimizing cost. The Assistant Manager is responsible for gathering improvement ideas from executive direction, current conditions, or associate feedback, determining budget requirements and ROI, and formalizing initiatives into project plans. This includes developing budgets, project plans, stakeholder communication, assigning work to SMEs, tracking progress, and troubleshooting variances from plan. This role also manages AHM offsite storage operations in compliance with SOX regulations, including budgeting, daily oversight, and working with Corporate Procurement to negotiate third-party storage contracts on behalf of Honda. Additional responsibilities include managing Parts Division capital investments, building the six-year BIM capital forecast, justifying forecast assumptions, and securing executive approval. The role also supports safe and compliant working conditions across 15 facilities under capital budget responsibility. The Assistant Manager is also responsible for Hub budget planning, partnering with 3PLs to establish volume forecasts, efficiency targets, labor assumptions, and cost-per-unit projections for outsourced hub operations. Because Logistics Planning sits between operations and SPPC, this role also serves as a subject matter expert and supports internal and external data analysis requests where answers are not immediately clear.
