The Assistant Manager, Food & Beverage, will administer daily pre-shifts, assign job tasks, and set clear objectives and expectations for team members. This role involves prioritizing tasks, managing team members equitably based on performance, and providing timely feedback to improve individual and team performance, including formal corrective action. The Assistant Manager will address inappropriate behavior, lead by example in technical ability, work ethic, and attendance, and enforce appearance and uniform guidelines. They will proactively answer questions, support management decisions, maintain confidentiality, and remain positive during challenging times. This role requires offering suggestions and solutions, recommending departmental policy changes, and making sound decisions. The Assistant Manager ensures compliance with health and safety standards, verifies that food and beverage products meet established standards, and ensures temperature logs are completed. They are responsible for integrating new team members through training, ensuring safe handling of service equipment, and maintaining POS cash registers and backup kits. Security measures for safekeeping of funds are also a responsibility. The role ensures office and supply availability and that FB team members provide fast, friendly, and timely service. The Assistant Manager is responsible for the accounting and reconciliation of Point of Sale systems and revenue, and for maintaining a neat, clean, organized, safe, and comfortable work environment. They provide first-level support and issue resolution, escalating issues appropriately, and spend at least 90% of their time on the floor interacting with guests and coaching associates. Visiting every guest at every table during their shift to ensure service and food quality meet expectations and resolving issues before guest departure is crucial. The Assistant Manager monitors guest service and staff performance by soliciting guest feedback, attends and supports guest service training, and ensures team members attend as required. They maintain knowledge of current marketing promotions and special events, track and manage daily schedule changes including coverage for call-offs, and determine labor cost savings. Conducting pass-downs of relevant information to relief team members and communicating effectively in written form are also key duties. The Assistant Manager attends all required training and meetings, completes necessary documentation accurately and timely, and recommends changes to unit policies. They read and respond to emails daily and perform other assigned duties. This role provides immediate supervision to servers, hosts/hostesses, cashiers, bussers, bartenders, cocktail servers, barbacks, and baristas.
