About The Position

The ADON assist the Director of Nursing to develops department goals, objectives, standards of performance, policies and procedures, and organizes the department in accordance with administrative guidelines. This position directs the implementation and ensures compliance with the Standard of Nursing Practice that promotes optimum health care delivery. The ADON participates in the development of new educational and research programs for expansion of nursing and patient care services. Identifies and leads strategies to improve and sustain patient experience scores. Qualifications, the incumbent develops and provides oversight for the hospital-wide education and training program, and assists department managers in providing education and training needs of staff based on requirements of the Joint Commission, OSHA, CDC, State and Federal guidelines. Requirements

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing is required; Master Degree preferred.
  • Credentials: Licensure by the Tennessee Board of Registered Nursing required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in a behavioral health setting. Demonstrate the ability to provide training and education.
  • Knowledge: Working knowledge of Joint Commission standards, OSHA and State of Tennessee requirements for employee training and education. Must be knowledgeable of and abide by HIPAA regulations with regard to protected health information as defined by HIPAA and ABS. Uses and/or discloses on a daily basis verbal, written PHI in order to perform job duties, as pertains to patients’ financial, demographic and/or clinical data; and/or employees’ financial, demographic and/or clinical data.
