About The Position

The Assistant Admissions Director oversees the admissions department and admission activities during the assigned shift. The assistant Director assigns responsibilities to assure prompt response to-patient needs reviews and maintains all documents and departmental logs and assigns physicians to admitted patients. The Assistant Director also performs Admissions Counselor responsibilities and provides telephonic and in person risk assessment and crisis intervention, initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, determines appropriate level of care and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff. The Assistant Director will supervise department staff, including daily schedule assignment, call management, orientation and coordination of quality improvement in conjunction with Admissions Director. Requirements

  • A Master's degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology,, social work, counseling, or other related field.
  • Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with substance abuse and dual diagnosis population, managing staff.
