About The Position
We are looking for a physician to diagnose and treat a wide range of internal medicine conditions with the potential to specialize in a subspecialty area such as cardiology, critical care, endocrinology; gastroenterology, infectious disease, oncology or nephrology. Rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor and applicable salary are dependent upon candidate’s qualifications and experience.
Requirements
- Completion of, or in the process of completing an ACGME Internal Medicine Residency Program
- Must hold or be eligible for ABIM board certification (or in training to become board eligible)
- Completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 3

Responsibilities
- Provides medical care by interviewing, examining, and treating patients
- Educates patients on wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials and resources to the patients and families
- Determines level of urgency of follow-up, referral/consultation appointments
- Prescribes medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients
- Orders studies, test and ancillary services
- Documents all services in patient medical record
- Consults with other departments and medical staff professionals as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues
- Participates in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by the hospital or clinic requirements
- Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, patient care, research and service
- Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
- Teaches internal medicine residents, outside rotators, NP's, PA's and medical students through lectures and in clinics/hospitals
- Giving lectures and teaching sessions to fellows, residents and medical students
