About The Position

BlackRock Investment Management, LLC is seeking an Associate to perform daily portfolio management tasks. This role involves liquidity management, portfolio re-balancing, corporate action analysis, client activity, foreign exchange (FX) exposure, cash management, and risk and performance monitoring. The Associate will ensure portfolios are positioned within investment parameters and guidelines and track within performance expectations. The role also includes analyzing fund performance attribution, understanding sources of portfolio risk relative to the benchmark, and engaging with global teams to identify and drive process improvements. The Associate will participate in project work, systems testing, and establish portfolio management practices that can be shared globally.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field and one (1) year of experience as a Summer Analyst, Manager, Assistant Manager or a related role.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field and three (3) years of experience as a Summer Analyst, Manager, Assistant Manager or a related role.
  • One (1) year of experience with: Analyzing sources of portfolio return and risk relative to benchmarks, including factor-based and sector-based attribution.
  • One (1) year of experience with: Knowledge of U.S. and international equity markets, including market structure, trading dynamics, and macroeconomic influences.
  • Any amount of experience with: Portfolio management strategies including risk models, index construction methodologies, and asset allocation strategies including target date funds.
  • Any amount of experience with: Portfolio risk attribution and transaction cost analysis including interpretation of risk metrics and integration into portfolio construction and oversight.
  • Any amount of experience with: Knowledge of 40 Act regulatory frameworks governing mutual funds and ETFs, including the ETF Ecosystem, creation and redemption process and custom in-kind transactions.
  • Any amount of experience with: Technology solutions related to portfolio management, trading and data analytics using Python and SQL.
  • Any amount of experience with: Manage FX exposures across global portfolios, including daily oversight of currency positions, overdrafts, and rebalancing activities.
  • Any amount of experience with: Knowledge of index rules and rebalancing mechanics across major providers such as MSCI, S&P, FTSE, and Dow Jones.
  • Any amount of experience with: Interpreting and applying index changes, including IPO inclusions, deletions, and corporate actions including mergers, spinoffs, and dividends.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess sound knowledge of index methodologies of various index providers such as MSCI, Standard and Poor's, FTSE, and Dow Jones.
