About The Position
This role focuses on election law, specifically within California. Essential experience includes interfacing with California regulatory agencies like the Fair Political Practices Commission and local ethics agencies. A strong understanding of the California Political Reform Act and local ordinances related to campaign finance, lobbying, ethics, and conflicts of interest is required. Candidates with experience in California enforcement proceedings, audits, or investigations, including response preparation and resolution negotiation, are highly encouraged to apply. Experience in California government service, political campaigns, or California-based nonprofit organizations is also highly valued. Litigation experience in California courts or administrative forums is considered a plus.
Requirements
- Experience interfacing with California regulatory agencies (e.g., Fair Political Practices Commission, local ethics agencies)
- Strong command of the California Political Reform Act
- Strong command of California local ordinances governing campaign finance, lobbying, ethics, and conflicts of interest
- Experience handling California enforcement proceedings, audits, or investigations
- Experience preparing responses and negotiating resolutions for enforcement proceedings, audits, or investigations
